Calendar views and navigation

Year, month, week and day views, zooming through time, jumping to a date in plain words, and what the calendar shows besides events.

Updated 24 September 2026

The calendar is a continuous surface you zoom through — from a whole year down to a single day — rather than a set of separate pages.

Zoom through time#

Open Calendar → Calendar. Choose Year, Month, Week or Day, or zoom closer and wider to move between them. Scrolling moves through time; the position indicator shows where you are.

Jump to a date#

Open Jump in time and type a date the way you would say it — 14 March, next friday, 2028 — or choose a shortcut: Today, Tomorrow, Next week, Next month, Start of the year, Christmas. Press Esc to close it.

Choose what shows#

Toggle what appears on the grid: Meetings, All-day events, Task deadlines, Project deadlines and Holidays. Overlapping events are marked so you can see double-bookings.

Create an event#

Choose the new-event button and fill in the details, or open a slot on the grid. See Events.

Overview#

Calendar → Overview is the at-a-glance page:

  • Today's schedule — No commitments today when it is clear.
  • Schedule heatmap — how full each day is, from free to full.
  • Your availability.
  • Calendar health — a score for the week and what is pulling it down.
  • What stands out — anything unusual this week.
  • Upcoming events in the loaded range.
