Getting started with Unobits
Your first week in Unobits
A practical order for connecting email, bringing in contacts, starting work and inviting people, so every module has something to show.

A new workspace becomes useful once the things that already exist in your business are in it: your conversations, your contacts and your current work. This is a sensible order for the first week. Skip anything your business does not do.
Day 1 — Connect where your conversations happen#
- Connect your mailbox. Open Email → Accounts and connect Gmail, Outlook or any IMAP/SMTP mailbox. Your mail starts arriving in Email and the Inbox. See Email.
- Connect social accounts if customers message you there. Socials → Settings connects Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram. (Socials needs the Pro plan or above.) See Socials.
- Open the Inbox. Everything that needs a reply now lands in one place. Teach it which senders matter and which are noise. See Inbox.
Day 2 — Bring in the people you work with#
- Import contacts into CRM from a CSV, or pull them in from Google or Outlook contacts. See Import and export CRM data.
- Check the pipeline. CRM → Settings holds your pipelines and stages. The defaults come from your business type; rename or reorder them to match how you actually sell. See CRM settings.
- Add the opportunities you are working on now, so the forecast means something from week one.
Day 3 — Put current work in#
- Create a project for each piece of live work, with its tasks and dates. See Create and manage projects.
- Link each project to its client so the client's record shows the work.
- Connect Google Calendar if you use it, so deadlines and meetings sit together. See Sync with Google Calendar.
Day 4 — Money#
- Fill in Finance settings: your details on documents, invoice numbering, sales tax and which mailbox invoices are sent from. See Finance settings.
- Add your bank accounts with opening balances and import a recent statement. See Bank accounts, statements and reconciliation.
- Connect Stripe or Paystack if you want invoices to be payable online. See Take invoice payments online.
- Send your next invoice from Unobits.
Day 5 — Your team and your routine#
- Invite your team with the access each person needs. See Invite your team.
- Build one automation for something you do by hand every week. See Build your first automation.
- Ask Donna what needs your attention. She reads everything you can see and answers from your own records.
