Reach

Outbound email and SMS: find and import people, build campaigns and multi-step journeys, send from your own mailboxes inside a safety envelope, and work the replies.

Updated 24 September 2026

Reach is Unobits' outbound communication system: it helps you decide who to talk to, what to say, when, through which channel — and what happened after. It covers cold prospecting, newsletters and warm follow-up, by email and SMS, sent from your own mailboxes within limits that protect them.

Reach was previously called Sequences. A sequence is now one part of Reach — the journey a campaign sends.

The three layers of a campaign#

How Reach sends
  1. Journeyhow: a reusable series of steps — email, wait, SMS, decision, task
  2. Campaignwho, when and from where: one audience, one schedule, one sender, one safety envelope
  3. Enrolments and sendswhat actually happened to each person

A newsletter is a campaign with a single send and no journey. A three-step follow-up is a campaign whose journey has three steps. Saving a journey as a playbook lets another campaign start from a copy of it.

Two rules that shape everything#

Who may be contacted depends on why you have their address. Every lead records where it came from. A campaign declares whether it is prospecting (a first approach) or marketing (to people who asked to hear from you), and Reach only admits people whose source is a basis for that kind of message. Opt-outs always win. See Eligibility, consent and opt-outs.

How much you may send is calculated, not chosen. Each sender has a safe daily volume that grows as it warms up, and your organization's credits cap the total. You can lower limits; nobody can raise the calculated one. See Sending safety and limits.

Reach and the rest of Unobits#

  • CRM — enrol CRM records into campaigns; a lead and a CRM contact resolve to one person, and a CRM contact's record shows Reach activity.
  • Email — replies arrive in the mailbox that sent them; Email shows This came from Reach on those threads and can hand a person to Reach.
  • Finance — invoice emails can be sent through the same sending system Reach uses.
  • Donna — can draft messages, propose campaigns and, where you allow it, act inside Reach. See Reach settings.
  • Automations — Reach is not a second automation engine. Use Automations for anything that should happen when an event fires elsewhere.
