Discovery

Discovery finds businesses worth approaching. You describe who you want to reach; Unobits searches for matching businesses, keeps them in an opportunities pool, and can read each business's website for the addresses and numbers it publishes. Nothing found this way can be contacted until a person clears it.

Search#

On Discovery → Search, describe who you want to reach in plain words — “Find roofing companies in Texas running Meta ads with at least 50 reviews”. Unobits turns the description into criteria you can check and edit. If nothing usable could be read from what you wrote, add a criterion by hand or say it more plainly.

Run the search to add matching businesses to the pool, or Save as a standing search to keep looking on a cadence.

Opportunities#

Discovery → Opportunities is the pool of businesses found, and what to do with each:

• Read who they are, where they are and why they are worth approaching.
• Read the site for the contact addresses it publishes (its home page and up to three contact or about pages). Reading sites costs no credits, within a daily limit for the workspace.
• Bring people into Reach — the people found join Leads as Research only until someone clears them for outreach. See Leads.
• Add a business you already know is worth approaching. It joins the same pool and can be read the same way.

Standing searches#

Discovery → Standing searches keeps finding businesses on a cadence. Each has a name, how often it runs and a target each period. You can pause one, or delete the instruction — the businesses it already found stay in the pool.

With Autopilot on (Reach → Settings → Autopilot), Reach can read every business a standing search finds and bring the people into Leads automatically — still held as research only. See Reach settings.

Research activity#

Discovery → Research activity records what the discovery engine has been doing — searches run, sites read, people found — so you can see what happened while nobody was watching.

Why found people start as “research only”#

Being findable on the web is not permission to be contacted. Reach keeps anything discovered or enriched as research only, and requires a person to clear each address with a stated reason before it can enter a campaign. The reason is stored with the person. See Eligibility, consent and opt-outs.
