Bookings

Bookings for your kind of business

How Bookings changes for a hotel, a consultancy or a salon: the words, the overview, the lifecycle and the pages each kind of business gets.

Updated 2 November 2026

Bookings is one module with one set of rules, but a hotel, a consultancy and a salon do not run their day the same way. An experience changes how Bookings works for a kind of business: its words, its overview, its lifecycle and the pages it shows. The bookings underneath are the same.

The experiences#

ExperienceForLifecycle readsThe overview answers
Appointments (standard)Any business that books times with people or thingsBooked → Confirmed → Arrived → CompletedToday’s lanes per resource, what is waiting on someone, the week
LodgingHotels, guest houses, holiday letsBooked → Confirmed → Checked in → Checked outA chart of units by night, and today at the front desk
ConsultationsProfessional services, legal, healthcareBooked → Prepared → Met → ResolvedThe next consultation and who they are to you, then the day by prep status

How a workspace gets its experience#

A new workspace starts with the experience its industry suggests: hospitality and tourism start with Lodging; professional services, consulting, legal and healthcare with Consultations. Everyone else starts with Appointments. The Owner can change it afterwards in Admin → Organization. See How Unobits adapts to your business.

The words follow the workspace too, whatever the experience:

Lodging#

  • The chart — units down the side, nights across. Drag a stay to other nights or another unit, or drag its end to lengthen it. A stay keeps its unit unless you move it to another by name. Nights booked on another channel show as taken, and a channel booking on nights already sold here is flagged.
  • Today at the front desk — who is Arriving, Leaving and In house, with Check in and Check out buttons.
  • Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR over the nights ahead. Closed nights leave the count, channel nights count as taken, and fees stay out of ADR.
  • Arrivals and Departures pages, one day at a time.
  • Turnover — after a departure, Turnover task adds “Turn over Room 4 after …” to Tasks. The unit shows Being turned over until the task is done, then Unit ready.

Stay prices, minimum nights and arrival days come from the room type; see Stays: rates and rules. Channel calendars are on Resources.

Consultations#

  • Next up — the next consultation, with who the person is to you, what they told you, and their record.
  • The day, grouped by stage: Needs prep, Ready, Waiting, In meeting, Needs outcome, Completed.
  • Ready? — mark your preparation done. The booking records when.
  • Record outcome — after the meeting, choose the outcome, write What was agreed, and optionally:

    • add it to the person’s record in CRM as a note;
    • Put the follow-up in my Tasks with a date;
    • set The next booking should be in about a number of days;
    • Move a deal in CRM.

Each of those is made in its own module — the note in CRM, the task in Tasks — and linked from the booking. Bookings never keeps a copy.
