Run an outreach campaign safely

Connect a mailbox, check its domain, import a list, build a three-step journey that stops on reply, and launch inside the sending envelope.

Updated 2 November 2026

A first outreach campaign, set up so it cannot hurt your domain: a healthy sender, a clean list, a short journey that stops when people reply, and limits Reach calculates for you.

Set it up#

Connect a sender#

In Reach → Senders, connect the mailbox to send from: Google, Microsoft 365, or any other mailbox. For “any other”, enter the IMAP settings too — without them Reach cannot see replies. See Senders.

Check the domain#

In Senders → Domains, add the domain after the @. Fix anything Reach flags in SPF, DKIM or DMARC using the host and value it shows, then re-check.

Import your list#

In Leads, upload a CSV, match the columns, and add everyone to a list. People found by discovery must be cleared for outreach, with the reason they may be contacted. See Leads.

Create the campaign#

In Campaigns, name it and choose prospecting (people who have not asked to hear from you) or marketing (people who have). Choose the list and the sender.

Build a three-step journey#

An email, a wait, a follow-up email, a wait, a last short email. Stop on reply is on by default on each email step — leave it on. See Journeys.

Test#

On each email step, Send a test to yourself, with merge tags filled in.

Start#

Before this starts lists anything still blocking the campaign, and Safety clear shows whether the sending envelope allows it. Choose Start. Messages go out inside the sending window and within the sender’s daily limit, which grows as the sender warms up.

After it starts#

  • Work through answers in Replies.
  • Watch Metrics: bounces and complaints matter more than opens.
  • If bounces or complaints climb, Reach slows the sender and can stop the campaign by itself, saying why. See Sending safety.
