Connect a website

Add a property, let Unobits detect its platform, install the snippet or plugin, and understand what each level of control allows.

Updated 3 November 2026

Add a website once, and Unobits starts watching it straight away. Install the runtime — or the plugin, on WordPress — and it can also place things on the site.

Set it up#

Add the property#

On Overview, add your website’s address. Unobits detects the platform it is built on.

Watch starts immediately#

An observed property gets uptime, response time, screenshots and SEO checks with nothing installed: “This property is observed only. Until the runtime is installed and verified, Unobits can watch it but cannot place anything on it.”

Install#

In the property’s Connect stage, follow Install for its platform:

  • WordPress — install the Unobits plugin and paste in the property’s plugin key, which is created for you when you connect a WordPress property.
  • Other sites — add the Unobits runtime to the site’s pages.

Verify#

Unobits checks the install and records what the site reports. Once verified, you can place elements and measure real visits.

Connect a platform account (optional)#

For Shopify, Webflow or a GitHub repository, connect the account in Connections to let Unobits edit content there.
