Bookings

Set up bookings

The four things Bookings needs before it can take a booking: a resource, a booking type, opening hours and, for self-service, a booking page.

Updated 2 November 2026

Bookings needs four things before it can take a booking. The Overview walks you through them in order and disappears once they exist.

Get ready to take bookings#

Add who or what gets booked#

Open Resources and add a team member, a room, table or space, or an item from Inventory. Give each one how many bookings it can take at the same moment — usually 1. See Resources.

Describe what people book#

Open Booking Types and start with the thing people book most: a haircut, a deluxe room, a yoga class. Choose how time is booked, how many at once, and who or what can take it. See Booking types.

Set opening hours#

Open Availability and give each resource its weekly hours. Without hours, a resource can be booked at any time. Add closures for holidays. See Opening hours and closures.

Open a booking page (optional)#

If customers should book themselves, open Booking Pages and choose which booking types the page offers and which websites may use it. Today this needs a developer; see Booking pages.

Make the first booking#

From the Overview or Reservations, choose New reservation (it follows your words: New appointment in a salon). Pick what is being booked, the time and the customer. Bookings only offers times when a resource that can take the type is open and free. See Reservations.
