Portals
The portal console
Build any kind of portal from a preset: choose what of yours it reaches, which modules it shows, what each person may do, and who can get in by link.
On this page
The portal console is where you create portals and decide what each one reaches, shows and allows.
Create a portal#
Choose New portal, give it a name and pick a type. The type seeds its modules and default access; you can change all of it.
The tabs#
| Tab | What you do there |
|---|---|
| Overview | The portal’s address, status, people and expiry, and what is not built yet |
| Context | What of yours the portal reaches — a client, projects, a file or folder. Remove one and it disappears from every module at once. With no context, every module is empty |
| Modules | Which sections it shows, in order. Portal uploads: choose the organization folder where files people upload are saved |
| People | Invite someone by email; they get a link to set up their sign-in. See when each person was last seen |
| Access | The grid of person × module × what they may do. Save it and anything wider than your own permission is refused, with the reason |
| Links | Share links for people without an account. See Access and share links |
Files in a portal#
People with access can download files the portal reaches and, with the upload permission, upload files into the folder you chose. Choosing an upload folder does not share what is already in it — visibility always follows Context. A download limit counts each download someone starts.
Tasks in a portal#
In a team or project portal, people with permission can mark tasks and subtasks complete. The change is recorded on the task like any other.
