Files and folders

My files, Shared with me and Organization; uploading, folders, previews, moving, renaming and finding files.

Updated 2 November 2026

All Files shows everything you can open, in three places: your own files, files people shared with you, and the organization’s.

Upload and organize#

  • Upload File — or drag files onto the page. Large uploads can resume if interrupted.
  • New Folder, then Move to… to file things away.
  • Rename, Download, Delete and Share from a file’s menu, or select several and act on them together. Selecting several and choosing Download builds a ZIP, or offers individual downloads when the files are too large for one.
  • Filter by Documents, Images, Videos or Audio, sort newest or oldest first, search by name, and switch between grid and list.

Open and preview#

Open a file to preview it. Documents, sheets and slides open in Office with Open in Office.

Version history#

Version history lists a file’s earlier versions. Restore as a new revision brings an older one back without losing the current one.

Compress images#

Compress image shrinks images — on your device, without uploading them, or from images already in Files. Choose the output format and a quality or target size, review the result, then download it or save it as a new revision of the original.
